Adaptable Music - Defined

There are several types of music that fall under the category of Adaptable Music.
These sub categories include Flex, Full Flex, Modular/Cellular, and Improvisatory.

Flex Pieces - Instruments are assigned to specific parts based on range or register. They require at least one instrument on each part in order to be played as intended.

Full Flex Pieces - Any instrument can play any part. This provides the most flexibility in assigning parts.

Modular/Cellular Pieces - Ensembles of any size or instrumentation can play these pieces. They are written using motivic cells and may contain aleatory or improvisation.
